Can I Upload Music for Another Artist Thru My Distrokid Account
When I wanted to add a 2d artist to my DistroKid account I could not figure out how. To me, it was not very obvious how to do it. Turns out information technology's quite simple and in this article, I will show you how to practice information technology!
Y'all Need The Musician Plus Or Label Plan
To add multiple artists to your DistroKid account, you need to take the Musician Plus or Label plan. This is because the Musician plan does not allow more than one creative person on the account.
If you have the Musician plan you lot can upgrade it to the Musician Plus or Label plan.
But be sure it is something you lot need and afford as you cannot downgrade your account in one case yous upgrade information technology!
How To Upgrade Your Programme
First, click the Upgrade button in the menu.
Side by side, choose the plan that you require. I use the Musician Plus programme so I tin can have one business relationship for my Lofi music and another for harder beats and songs.
Don't Have DistroKid?
Don't have DistroKid? Here's my affiliate link if you lot wanted to get information technology. You get 7% off and I become $10, cool! I'll brand a note that, I really apply DistroKid, and fifty-fifty if they didn't take that link I'd exist linking to it.
How To Add A New Artist In DistroKid
To add a new artist to DistroKid, simply navigate to the Upload page and curl down to where information technology asks for your Artist/ring name.
Your current artist/band proper noun will probably be in the box, simply delete it and type in the artist/ring name y'all wish to add.
That's information technology!
At present upload your new vocal or album as you normally would and they volition upload under the new band name.
Why Is My New Artist/Band Name Not Showing?
And then, you only uploaded your songs using your new band proper noun and you want to encounter it nether stats or link information technology to another media page, like YouTube, to get verified status.
But when you go to the stats page or special access pages you lot simply come across your previous creative person name, why?
I found that your new creative person/ring name volition not show in these options until after your song has been released to the streaming services you sent your songs to.
Can Multiple Artists Use the Same Business relationship on DistroKid?
Yep, multiple artists and bands tin can utilize the same DistroKid business relationship as long as you have either the Musician Plus plans (limited to two artists/bands) or the Label plan (unlimited artists/bands).
When yous take released songs with more than one artist on DistroKid you lot will be able to select what creative person you are uploading with from a dropdown menu.
Once I added my second artist and released a song under that name I could select it from a dropdown menu for time to come song uploads (instead of typing it in like the first time).
Adding 3+ Artists On DistroKid
Once you have two artists on your DistroKid account you must have the Label plan to add more than two artists.
To add the third, fourth, 5th, etc. creative person you lot simply just click the "+ New Artist" push beneath the creative person dropdown bill of fare in the Upload section of DistroKid.
And, like earlier, you typically won't see the new proper name in the dropdown carte du jour until after the vocal/album has been released.
Summary
To add together a second artist to DistroKid y'all must:
- Ensure you take the Musician Plus or Label plan by checking the Upgrade page.
- Navigate to the Upload page.
- Type in the new Artist/Ring proper name in the "Artist/band name" text box.
- Upload the new vocal(s)/album every bit you lot normally would.
- When the new vocal/album is released on streaming platforms it volition then show in your account (ex: under the stats page).
Hopefully, that saves you some fourth dimension, I know it wasn't obvious to me when I did it the outset time!
